'The Bachelorette' Alum DeAnna Pappas Arrested After Alleged Altercation with Ex-Husband Stephen Stagliano, Files Restraining Order Against Him
The Bachelorette alum DeAnna Pappas has been arrested following an alleged altercation with her ex-husband, Stephen Stagliano. She is now filing a restraining order against him.
Lynn Stagliano, who appears to be Stephen‘s mother, filed a declaration in the divorce on Friday (March 7).
“On Wednesday, February 26, at 7:38 a.m., I went to DeAnna’s house to help get Austin to school. I very clearly smelled alcohol on DeAnna’s breath. I put Austin in the car and left,” Lynn wrote, according to records obtained by In Touch Weekly.

DeAnna later filed an opposition to the declaration. “The basis of [Stephen’s] is based on his fabrication that I am an alcoholic. This is wholly false and fabricated as way for [Stephen] to gain leverage in his attempt to alienate the children from me,” she claimed.
DeAnna then described the alleged altercation that reportedly took place on February 26.
“Stephen told me I needed to walk closer to him because he wanted to smell my breath to make sure that I was not drunk. I had not consumed any alcohol. I ignored Stephen’s comment, and I walked back into the garage,” she wrote.
“I heard a noise behind me. I turned around to see Stephen following me into my garage. [Our daughter] had been left alone sitting in his car with the engine running. I tried to shut my garage door. Stephen pushed my garage door upward so that it would not close. I shouted at Stephen to get out of my garage. Stephen refused to leave,” she added.
She continued: “Stephen took his hands, grabbing me, and then forcefully shoved me. He pushed my back again. In fear that he would hurt me, I immediately went back inside the house and locked the door while I waited for the police to arrive. Stephen had told the Sheriff that I was the aggressor who assaulted him, which was false.”
“At no time was I requested to test for alcohol despite Stephen’s allegations. In fact, the officer that arrested me exhibited no concern that I was at all intoxicated,” she claimed.
According to the records, DeAnna was arrested on February 27 with misdemeanor charges, and released on a $20,000 bail that day. She also claimed that she agreed to drug testing, and she claimed that the results were negative.
On March 7, DeAnna filed for a restraining order against Stephen, and the petition orders him to stay 100 yards away from her. A hearing has been set for late March, and the two are currently sharing joint custody of their children.
DeAnna appeared on season 11 of The Bachelor and season 4 of The Bachelorette. She and Stephen wed in 2011, and finalized their divorce in 2024. They share two children together, 11-year-old daughter Addison and 9-year-old son Austin.
