Insiders Reveal What Allegedly Happened Behind-the-Scenes with Rachel Zegler, Gal Gadot, & 'Snow White'

New insights regarding the controversies surrounding the Snow White film starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot have been released.

For context, in August 2024, Rachel wrote “Free Palestine” on her X account in a post tied to the Snow White trailer.

Meanwhile, Gal used to serve in the Israel Defense Forces under the country’s compulsory military service laws, and has previously voiced her support of Israel amid the Israel-Palestine conflict.

According to Variety, Rachel‘s post apparently “shocked” Disney executives, causing a producer to reportedly fly to New York to speak with her. However, Rachel‘s post remained, and Disney allegedly had to pay for additional security for Gal after death threats towards her were reported.

“She didn’t understand the repercussions of her actions as far as what that meant for the film, for Gal, for anyone,” an insider told Variety of Rachel‘s vocal political comments.

Other controversies surrounding the movie involved Rachel openly criticizing Donald Trump supporters, condemning the original 1937 film, and receiving hateful comments surrounding her Colombian heritage.

Exhibitor Relations box-office analyst Jeff Bock also weighed in on the situation.

“They say all press is good press, but in Snow White’s case, they were unabashedly wrong. Too much negative controversy surrounded this film for years,” he said.

However, sources also told Variety that Rachel and Gal have “no bad blood” between them, and “got along well” during production.

Earlier this month, Disney decided to scale pack the red carpet premiere of Snow White by not inviting typical press to interview the cast.
