Ian Somerhalder Reacts to Nikki Reed's Movie 'Thirteen' & Clarifies If They've Exited Hollywood
Ian Somerhalder is reacting to his wife Nikki Reed‘s controversial film Thirteen.
If you didn’t know, Nikki co-wrote and starred in the semi-autobiographical movie in 2003, which depicted underage substance abuse and sexual behavior.
Now, Ian, who shares a 7-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son with Nikki, is voicing his thoughts on the film.
“As a dad now, I watch it and I go, I throw up in my mouth a little bit. But it’s incredible,” he said while on “SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show“.
Meanwhile, Nikki described what the project means to her years later.
“I really embraced the fact that I grew up, I lived on fast food and diet sodas, and I smoked cigarettes I have the most wonderful mom who raised two kids in Los Angeles making $16,000 a year on her own and I really embrace that, the arc of this journey, where I am now versus the tools I had growing up,” she said.
“I think it speaks volumes to all of these were passion areas of mine that I pursued on my own, which for anyone listening, curiosity is the best, that’s the best thing you can have,” she added.
In the interview, Ian and Nikki also discussed the trajectory of their acting careers while working on their supplements company, The Absorption Company.

However, Nikki clarified that the couple have not permanently left Hollywood to pursue their business.
“He talks about walking away a lot. I don’t view like a walk away. I sort of view a nice transitional moment right now of figuring out how to really marry business with passion,” she said.
