“My favorite part was the old hag. I really had the opportunity to come out of my skin,” Gal shares in this exclusive clip. “I love to transform and the prosthetics really lets the character come out. It’s not me. To become that timeless character was just delightful.”
“I called Mark Coulier, the fantastic prosthetics designer, to sculpt the design. I didn’t want it to be scary, but something more magical,” hair and makeup artist Nadia Stacey shared. “I thought about that moment when Snow White first meets her and opens the door. It just made more sense to me that she wouldn’t be scared, she would see an old lovely lady at the door and would trust her.”
Costume designer Sandy Powell dished, “We changed her body shape by building a hump, million miles away from the very upright posture the queen normally has, and she’s wearing a black cloak. But really, it’s about the amazing prosthetics. I mean, the hands are extraordinary. I think they’re so good.”
