Is 'Black Snow' Season 3 Happening? AMC+ TV Show Renewal Status Revealed
Black Snow Season 2 is coming to an end tonight (Thursday, May 22)!
The Travis Fimmel-led TV show premiered last month with Season 2 on AMC+, although the Australian drama series had already aired in full on streaming service Stan in Australia.
In the series, Detective James Cormack of the Queensland Police Service attempts to balance his work on cold cases with a personal mission to find his brother, who went missing when they were children.
Season 2 is set in 2024, and is dubbed “Jack of Clubs.” It follows Detective Cormack investigating the missing persons case of Zoe Jacobs in 2003, in the fictional town of Moorevale, while simultaneously looking into the disappearance of his younger brother in 1994.
It also stars Jana McKinnon, Dan Spielman, Megan Smart, Alana Mansour, Kat Stewart and Victoria Haralabidou.
Naturally, fans are curious to know whether the show will be getting a third season.

As of right now, there is still no official renewal for Season 3.
In the United States, the series was released on Sundance Now and AMC+. In the United Kingdom, the show aired Season 1 on BBC Four in August 2023 and BBC Two in April 2025.
It is likely that AMC, BBC and Stan are all looking at the commercial and critical success of Season 2, which means we may not hear an announcement about the show being renewed or cancelled for a little while.
As far as audience reception, the show has a 91% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, and the first few critic reviews are positive as well.
“Megan Smart’s Samara Khalil is a strong foil for Fimmel — there’s a genuine emotional dynamic, not always conducive to collaboration, between the two. Let’s have more of these smart, solid Australian genre pieces,” The Age declares.
