Billy Joel is canceling all of his upcoming concerts as he focuses on his health.
On Friday morning (May 23), the 76-year-old “Piano Man” singer announced that he is cancelling all of his scheduled tour dates after he was recently diagnosed with the brain disorder normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH).
“Billy Joel has announced that he will be cancelling all scheduled concerts following a recent diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH),” read a statement on Billy‘s Instagram. “This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance.”

That can affect several brain-related abilities, including thinking and concentrating, memory, movement and more,” according to the Cleveland Clinic. While symptoms look similar to those of dementia, NPH is sometimes reversible.
The statement continued, “Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period. Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health.”
“He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage,” the statement concluded.
Billy, himself, added, “I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding.”
Earlier this year, Billy postponed several concert dates after undergoing an undisclosed surgery.
