“It’s really meaningful,” Ella told People. “My parents were at every single show I did at Juilliard. They understand how hard it is and the joy that comes with it. I just feel lucky and really grateful for their understanding and support.”
“As I’ve gotten older, [my dad] and I have really been able to connect over talking about acting and working, and it really means a lot to me,” Ella said. “I come from a family of theater people. Everyone in my family comes from the theater proudly, so they’re exactly like me. My dad’s first job was at Lincoln Center and I just graduated from Julliard, so I was at school across the street. I look up to him, my mom and my grandparents a lot. Especially in a moment like this, where I’m doing the thing I love to do.”
“So to finally get to [make my Off-Broadway debut] is really special,” she said. “And I feel lucky to have not only my parents’ support, but also their understanding of what it means to be doing this right now.”
