As of right now, Task has not been renewed for Season 2 or cancelled at HBO.
In a new interview, creator and showrunner Brad Ingelsby addressed the possibility of continuing the miniseries.
“I’d love to do another season of Task,” he revealed to Esquire.
“If people respond to Task and keep responding to Task, I’d love to tell more stories about this place, because I love writing about this place. I do feel like I have more stories to tell,” he continued.
“What I love about TV is just how many characters you get to explore. I really see myself as a character writer, not a great plot writer. You get to explore the Grassos, the Lizzies, and Aleahs. If I were to do a movie, unless I were Robert Altman, I just wouldn’t be able to tap into that many characters.”
The show currently has a 95% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience score of 69%. Stay tuned to find out if it’ll get a Season 2!
