“If it were somebody like Florence Pugh, I would be in heaven,” Debbie told The Sunday Times. “I just think she’s a great actor and she could do anything.”
According to EW, Florence has also expressed an interest in playing Debbie!
While attending the 2020 Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Florence was asked about famous figures she might want to play on screen.
“Blondie, just because she’s so cool,” she said, adding another singer to the mix – Dusty Springfield.
Towards the end of 2020, Florence shared that her top priority in choosing roles is to “find women who are totally fascinating and totally powerful in their own way. I really want to recognize the women I play, whether it’s that I recognize my mom in her, or my gran in her, or my sister in her. I want to play complex and confusing characters.”
This year, Florence has been on set reprising two roles – Princess Irulan in Dune: Part Three, and Yelena Belova in Avengers: Doomsday.
