A second season has not yet been ordered by Netflix, but ideas are already in place and ready to go
Season two ended with Joanne and Noah breaking up again. Noah was the one who ended things, telling Joanne that he didn’t want to force things with her and make her convert to Judaism if she didn’t want to do that. Eventually, she realizes that she already embodies all of the traits of being Jewish. Joanne and Noah reunite and she seemingly hints that she’s going to convert.
Erin Foster has confirmed that she’s ready to write a third season and she has a five-season plan for the series.
“Netflix is probably waiting to see what the reaction is Season 2, but I’m ready to start writing season three, if they’re ready to give me a green light,” Erin told TheWrap.
On what will happen next, Erin said, “I think it’s clear that if there’s a Season 3, then [Joanne] will be on her journey converting.”
Erin said that season three will be fun “now that we’re past those hurdles,” adding that “they can be off to the races as a couple.”
Erin‘s sister Sara Foster, who is an executive producer, said, “People want to see new couples coexisting and learning how to make it work, and that’s not quick — that’s a slow burn. That’s how Erin writes — Erin loves a slow burn.”
Erin hopes to see Nobody Wants This end with a fifth season, with Joanne and Noah getting married and having kids.
She said, “I really do try not to get too far ahead of myself, so I try to just to think about what’s right in front of me, but … I would love them to end up together and married with kids and all the things. That would be the dream trajectory for them.”
The second season ended with three other couples breaking up.
