Amber Valletta Rewears the Iconic J.Lo Green Versace Dress, 26 Years After She Wore It First
Did you know that Amber Valletta was actually the first person to wear the iconic green Versace dress?!
While everyone associates the dress with Jennifer Lopez, who wore it to the Grammys in 2000, Amber actually modeled it on the runway in 1999… and now she’s back in the dress 26 years later.
Amber slipped back into the iconic look at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday night (November 3) at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
Fashion designer Donatella Versace was honored with the Positive Change Award and Amber was there to help support her!
Amber opened up about wearing the dress while speaking with Vogue in April 2023.

“So I wore it on the runway, then obviously I did the campaign, and then J.Lo wore it to the Grammys. And again, massive iconic moment when she wore that dress. Nobody went out like that ever. Nobody showed skin like that,” she said. “I think it was so ahead of its time.
“This dress has been Googled more times than any other look in history. It literally broke the internet when [Lopez] wore it, so it’s kind of cool to be a part of that history,” she said. “I wore it first.”
