Original Host Tom Bergeron Returning to 'DWTS' as Guest Judge, 5 Years After Shocking Exit

Huge Dancing with the Stars news this morning: Tom Bergeron is returning as next week’s guest judge!

There’s a lot of history between DWTS and the 70-year-old TV personality. He was the host of the show from season 1 in 2005 up until 2020 when he was unexpectedly done with the show. He later explained why he and Erin Andrews did not return.

In honor of the 20th anniversary of the show, he’ll be appearing on the November 11 episode as a guest judge.

About returning to DWTS, Tom said on GMA, “It feels really good. I’m really looking forward to it.”

“I think 20 years of any primetime show is amazing, but for a show that’s 20 years old that’s also having a ratings resurgence…you’re more likely to see a zebra playing the piano,” he added.
