The upcoming movie is based on the Japanese military sci-fi franchise and is set to be written and directed by Sweet Tooth showrunner Jim Mickle.
Though plot details are currently unknown, per Deadline, “Gundam is set in the Universal Century, a future where humanity has colonized space. When a rebellion erupts between Earth and its colonies, the ensuing conflict is fought by pilots in massive mechanized contraptions known as mobile suits.”
After launching in 1979, the franchise has featured 83 animated shows and movies, as well as extensive and very profitable merchandising.
The upcoming Gundam movie is being co-produced by Legendary and franchise owner Bandai Namco Filmworks. If Noah is officially cast, this will mark his second recent live-action adaptation with Legendary as he wrapped filming on the upcoming Street Fighter movie earlier this year!
Production on Gundam is looking to begin in early 2026.
Noah and Sydney are pictured here attending the Giorgio Armani Privé Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2023/2024 fashion show during Paris Fashion Week in July 2023.
