“I put myself in that skin, and it was a skin I didn’t feel comfortable in, to be honest,” he revealed.
Given that that the actor has made a career out of playing characters in darker shows like Breaking Bad, Westworld, The Last House on the Left, and The Path, it’s a little surprising to hear that this was a role that he didn’t like, but he candidly admitted that he didn’t want to voice Powerplex anymore.
“What it did to me, I didn’t like,” he said.
Powerplex is a challenging and heavy character. He is forced to deal with the death of his sister and niece when they are killed amid a superhero battle and later his loss of control over his powers results in the deaths of his wife and child.
“It was just way too grueling on my psyche,” Aaron said, adding that he has “such respect” for the people making the show.
It seems likely that the character will be recast. A fourth and fifth season are in development.
