Zohran Mamdani Confirms He Thinks Donald Trump Is a Fascist After Their Meeting
New York City’s Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani had a memorable moment with President Donald Trump last week when the two met at the White House.
If you don’t know, the 34-year-old future Mayor was asked if he thinks Trump is a fascist.
When he was asked that, Trump interjected and said, “That’s OK, you can just say it. It’s easier, it’s easier than explaining it.” Mamdani seemed to then agree.
On Meet the Press over the weekend, he was asked about that moment, and he re-confirmed that he said “yes.”

“After President Trump said that, I said, ‘Yes,’” he shared. “That’s something I’ve said in the past and I say today. And I think what I appreciated about the conversation that I had with the president was that we were not shy about the places of disagreement, about the politics that has brought us to this moment, and we also wanted to focus on what it could look like to deliver on a shared analysis of an affordability crisis for New Yorkers.”
He then added, “Everything that I’ve said in the past, I continue to believe.”
