Nicole Kidman Says She Felt 'Very Safe' & 'Loved' On The Set Of 'Practical Magic 2' Amid Her Split From Keith Urban

Nicole Kidman says she’s “hanging in there” after amid a stressful year and divorce from Keith Urban.

The 58-year-old actress chatted with Ariana Grande, 32, for Interview Magazine. The piece was published on Monday (November 24), though the conversation itself took place on October 19, almost one month after news of Nicole and Keith‘s divorce was made public. She filed the divorce papers on September 30.

Discussing the filming of Practical Magic 2 over the summer in London, the actress seemed to suggest that being on that set was helpful to her state of mind as she felt “safe” and “protected.” It was reported that the couple had started to live apart at the beginning of the season.

“Sandy Bullock and I, and then Joey King and Maisie [Williams]—we had an incredible cast,” she shared, noting how sometimes filming isn’t fun. Ariana then chimed to say “emotionally draining,” and Nicole agreed.

But she says it was different for this film. She felt “protected and loved,” and “very, very safe.”

Ariana‘s latest film Wicked: For Good is now playing in theaters. Practical Magic 2 is expected in theaters on September 18, 2026.
