Trump Says This Was 'the Worst F-cking Thing I Ever Did' When Discussing His Health

Donald Trump opened up about his health in a new interview, revealing one major regret in the process.

The 79-year-old president sat down for a conversation with New York magazine, which was published on Monday (January 26).

In it, he spoke candidly about one medical decision that he underwent on the recommendations of his doctor. He explained that going through with it was “the worst f—— thing I ever did.”

In October 2025, Trump told reporters on Air Force One that he’d undergone an MRI, an imaging test run by doctors.

Months later, his doctor Dr. Sean Barbabella, issued the results.

Looking back, Trump said that he “blame[d]” his doctors — Barbabella and James Jones — for the decision.

“They wanted me to take it. And because I took it, people want to say, ‘Oh, there must be something wrong,’ ” he reflected, asking the doctors, who were also present, to break down why they wanted him to undergo the imaging test, which he called the “stupidest thing I’ve ever done.”

Jones replied: “We asked him to do it because he had a scheduled trip at Walter Reed.” While he was there, I asked him if we could complete some additional physical things that we were planning on doing annually. And he was like, ‘Okay. We will work it in for time schedules.’ ”

Continuing, he said that the test was “MRI-like,” but was not actually an MRI.

“The reason for the imaging, as routine as we stated, is that any patient his age could have things, and we ruled them out,” Jones added. “The story should be about the fact that the results were, uh, perfect. They did not demonstrate any problems.”

Earlier in his conversation, Trump threatened to sue New York magazine if they wrote what he deemed “a bad story about my health.”

“There will be a time when you can write that story, maybe in two years, three years, five years — five years, no one is going to care, I guess,” he said.

If you missed it, Trump recently hinted at plans to stay in office well after his second term ends.
