Ana de Armas Cast as Fitness Influencer In New Thriller Movie 'Sweat'

Ana de Armas‘ next role has been revealed!

The 37-year-old Oscar-nominated actress will be starring in the upcoming psychological thriller Sweat, where she’ll play a fitness influencer, according to Deadline.

In the pic, Ana will play Emma Kent, a rising fitness influencer who “dreams of matching the success of her idol, social media superstar Kat Highbrook.”

“Her carefully curated world begins to collapse when an encounter with Kat goes horribly wrong, and she is forced into a dangerous arrangement with Trent, an obsessive fan. His unhinged devotion pushes her to choose how far she’s willing to go for fame.”

The movie is based on the Cannes-selected film of the same name from Swedish Polish director Magnus von Horn. UK filmmaker J Blakeson will helm the new film, and he’ll produce as well.

Over the past couple months, Ana has been photographed on several occasions while heading to and from the gym. Perhaps she’s been preparing for her new role!

Filming on the project is said to begin at the end of March in Los Angeles.

Ana was last seen on screen in the movies Eden and From the World of John Wick: Ballerina. She also has two more movies in the works – Reenactment, which is rumored, and Bananas.
