Leon Thomas Misses His First Grammy Win, Arrives in Time for Second Award!

Leon Thomas is officially a two-time Grammy winner!

The 32-year-old R&B singer picked up two awards at the 2026 Grammy Awards‘ Premiere Ceremony on Sunday (February 1) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Leon won the awards for Best Traditional R&B Performance for his song “Vibes Don’t Lie” and Best R&B Album for Mutt.

He missed the first win as he was on stage at the Crypto.com Arena rehearsing for his performance at the Grammys and his mom accepted the award on his behalf. He later arrived right on time to accept his second award!

Leon is also nominated for Best New Artist.

The Grammys will be hosted by Trevor Noah for the sixth and final time this year. You can tune in at 8pm ET / 5pm PT on CBS. Kendrick Lamar leads the field this year with nine nominations, followed by Lady Gaga, Jack Antonoff, and Cirkut all with seven nominations each. Check out the full list of nominations!
