Shaboozey Gets Emotional as He Wins First Grammy, Dedicates Award to Immigrants

Shaboozey is officially a Grammy winner!

The 30-year-old country music rapper and Jelly Roll won the award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their collaboration “Amen” at the 2026 Grammys Premiere Ceremony on Sunday (February 1) held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

As he took to the stage to accept the award, Shaboozey got emotional as he dedicated the win to immigrants.

Keep reading to find out more…“I’ve never written a speech in my life…Dear God, I just wanna say thank you. Nothing is possible without you,” Shaboozey said. “I want to also thank my mother, who as of today has retired from her job of 30 years, working in the medical field as a registered nurse in the psych ward. She worked 3 to 4 jobs just to provide for me and my four siblings, the children of immigrants … I have the greatest team in the world, thank you so much.”

And the last thing I want to say is immigrants built this country, literally,” he continued. “So this is for them, for all children of immigrants. This is also for those who came to this country for better opportunities … Thank you for all your stories … you’ve given America color. Thank you.”

The Grammys will be hosted by Trevor Noah for the sixth and final time this year. You can tune in at 8pm ET / 5pm PT on CBS. Kendrick Lamar leads the field this year with nine nominations, followed by Lady Gaga, Jack Antonoff, and Cirkut all with seven nominations each. Check out the full list of nominations!
