Nancy Guthrie Update: DNA Testing on Gloves Yields No Matches in CODIS
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department sent their daily update about the Nancy Guthrie investigation, and Just Jared can confirm some upsetting news about the gloves that supposedly contained DNA evidence.
Over the weekend, the FBI confirmed there was one pair of gloves with a DNA profile that was recovered that “appears to match the gloves of the subject in the surveillance video.”
The FBI confirmed they would be entering that DNA profile into the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) to see if the DNA would match anyone already in that system.
Unfortuantely, there were no matches.

The Sheriff told Just Jared, “DNA evidence from gloves found approximately 2 miles from the house was submitted to a lab in Florida and to CODIS this morning. There were no DNA hits in CODIS. At this point, there have been no confirmed CODIS matches in this investigation.”
They did add, “There is additional DNA evidence that was found at the residence, and that is also being analyzed.”
Here are the other updates from today:
Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker: Investigators are attempting to locate the device and are working with the manufacturer and other experts in the field to assist in that effort.
Doorbell video released by the FBI: Investigators are working with Walmart management to identify and isolate the individual who purchased the backpack.
Guthrie Family: In criminal investigations, evidence is examined to either build a case or clear individuals. At this point in the investigation, the Guthrie family (including siblings and spouses) has not been identified as suspects. (Just Jared note: the Sheriff said the family was cleared as of yesterday.)
Leads: Investigators are still processing evidence from two search warrants executed last week. The individuals who were questioned have been released, and no arrests have been made. As this investigation continues, you can expect to see similar activity.
