Trump Insults 'Fools' Concerned About Rising Gas Costs amid Military Action with Iran: 'Small Price to Pay'
Donald Trump is doubling down on his lack of concern about rising gas costs in the United States amid his ongoing war in Iran. This time, he’s also insulting anyone who disagrees with his thought process.
The 79-year-old president campaigned on lowering the price Americans pay at the gas station ahead of the 2024 presidential election. During his State of the Union address in February, he also referenced reduced prices.
However, since launching military action against Iran on February 28, The New York Times reported that prices are rising again at a steady rate.
Trump slammed his critics in a heated statement while seemingly acknowledging again that gas prices could continue to be a problem.

In a Truth Social post on Sunday evening (March 8), Trump referred to his critics as “fools.”
“Short term oil prices, which will drop rapidly when the destruction of the Iran nuclear threat is over, is a very small price to pay for U.S.A., and World, Safety and Peace,” he wrote.
The president concluded: “ONLY FOOLS WOULD THINK DIFFERENTLY!”
His latest remarks come a few days after he said that he didn’t have “any concerns” about the cost of gas while speaking with Reuters.
Trump again said prices would “drop very rapidly when this is over.”
“It they rise, they rise, but this is far more important than having gasoline prices go up a little bit,” he said.
His blunt response comes after the politician addressed the likelihood of American service members dying while fighting Iran and the risk of the Middle Eastern country directly striking the U.S. at home.
