Bat Out of Hell musical inspired by the music of Meat Loaf to visit the Churchill Theatre in Bromley and Orchard Theatre in Dartford

A rip-roaring musical is tearing its way across the country on a nationwide tour.

Bat Out of Hell, inspired by Meat Loaf’s best-selling album of the same name, is bringing huge rock ‘n’ roll anthems to theatres all over the UK, including two Kent venues.

The show will be speeding into Bromley and Dartford this year, with returning cast members Glenn Adamson and Katie Tonkinson playing Strat and Raven, a rebellious young couple who fall in love against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic New York City.

The tour also features original cast members Rob Fowler and Sharon Sexton, who have appeared in shows such as Mamma Mia and Billy Elliot.

The musical is based on the music of Meat Loaf, whose 1977 album Bat Out of Hell is one of the best-selling albums in history.

In 1993, the singer once again teamed up with songwriter Jim Steinman to record and release Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell, which became a No. 1 album in multiple countries.

The final record in the trilogy, Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose, was released in 2006.

Together, the three albums spawned hit singles such as Paradise by the Dashboard Light, You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth, I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That), It's All Coming Back to Me Now and, of course, Bat Out of Hell.

Grammy Award winner Jim Steinman, who also wrote songs for Bonnie Tyler, Take That and Boyzone, penned the musical adaptation, which debuted at the Manchester Opera House in 2017.

Now in its eighth year, the show has received 10 WhatsOnStage Award nominations and an Olivier Award nomination.

Bat Out of Hell will be at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley from Monday, January 27 to Saturday, February 1. You can book tickets online here.
