OK Humane Society highlights adoption opportunities for your next furry friend
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The Oklahoma Humane Society is seeking individuals interested in adoption and fostering a friendly animal to become the next addition to your family.
OK Humane works in close partnership with Oklahoma City Animal Welfare (OKC Animal Shelter) and other local shelters with a primary focus to eliminate the needless euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals in Oklahoma City.
OK Humane is showcasing this week's (8.26-8.30) adorable animals ready for adoption! *Please be advised, all Humane locations will be closed Monday, September 2nd and the OK Humane Adoption Center will be closed September 2-3, 2024.
Here are your latest opportunities awaiting at the OK Humane Adoption Center:
Meet Bibbit!
Bibbit is the sweetest tabby cat you'll ever encounter, instantly recognizable by the charming white spot on her chest. Bibbit loves nothing more than to sit next to you and be your constant companion. She does wonderfully with other cats and children, making her an ideal addition to a family home. Although she hasn't had any exposure to dogs, her docile and sweet nature suggests she could adapt well with proper introduction. With low to medium energy, Bibbit is content to lounge around, chase a laser pointer, or simply hang out by your side. She thrives in quieter environments, making a peaceful home the perfect setting for her. Bibbit was recently returned to us alongside her best friend Tiny, and they would love to find a new home together. Bibbit is also starting on a weight loss journey, so a family willing to support her in achieving a healthy lifestyle would be wonderful. Adopt Bibbit and Tiny, and you'll have double the love and double the joy!
Meet Imhotep!
Imhotep is a 5-month-old girl. She is as playful as they come and her far off stare will leave you entranced. She loves to play with toys and explore new places. She is still just a kitten and learning not to play with peoples' hands. With her cute white whiskers and charming personality, she is sure to bring joy and plenty of entertainment to her forever family.
Meet Klondike!
Klondike is as sweet as his namesake candy and is ready to melt your heart! This charming 3-year-old black and white double coated dog has a loving personality and a zest for life that makes him a joy to be around. Klondike's favorite things include getting pets and going on walks, but what he loves most is showing off his intelligence. He's quick to sit and shake hands, especially when a treat is involved. Klondike is very well-behaved and eager to please his favorite human. However, being a young and active dog, he sometimes gets overly excited, resulting in jumping or pulling on the leash like a sled dog aiming to win the Iditarod.
Klondike has shown a high prey instinct, so it's best for him to be in a home without cats. He has kept his kennel clean with regular walks and is always willing to go in when asked. While he hasn't been tried in a crate, we believe he would adapt well to crate training. Klondike would likely thrive with a canine friend of similar size and activity level, though a slow introduction is recommended to ensure a good match. Klondike is eagerly waiting to find his forever home where he can continue to learn, grow, and show his love. If you're looking for a sweet, smart, and active companion, Klondike might be the perfect match for you.
Meet Sid the Squid!
Sid is 3 months old and 12 pounds. Sid is a playful, cuddly, and curious pup! He enjoys playing with his toys, basking in the sun, and playing with his foster siblings. He still a baby, so learning new things like house training, crate training, commands, and manners are still a work in progress, but with consistency in his new home, we know he'll have it down in no time! Sid's foster already describes him as intelligent, responsive, and attentive! Sid already knows how to sit, kennel, potty, and is working on waiting to eat. He is working on puppy manners as he grows older, so a home that can continue working on puppy quirks like nipping and focusing would be best to set him for success! Come meet Sid the squid!
