Mythical creatures of Pumpkinville coming to Oklahoma City
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - Starting Friday, the public can enter the magical world of Pumpkinville at the Myriad Botanical Gardens.
"Oh, it’s amazing,” said Nate Tschaenn, the director of horticulture. “I think this is easily the best year… A better variety of pumpkins than we've ever had before. We got more unique displays."
The festival’s theme this year is Mythical Creatures.
"People seem really excited about the theme this year,” said Stacey Aldridge, the Chief Marketing Officer for Scissortail Park and Myriad Botanical Gardens. "We have everything from dragons to Pegasus and unicorns and mermaids and Loch Ness Monster."
You’ll also find giants, trolls, fairies and even Bigfoot.
While touring the world of 30-thousand pumpkins, families can play games, paint a pumpkin and shop local vendors.
Pumpkinville has new hours this year. It’s open Sunday through Thursday from 10 am to 5 pm and on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 6:30 pm. The festival is closed on Mondays.
It runs from Oct. 4 to Oct. 20.
"Just come out and enjoy everything that we have to offer here,” said Aldridge. “It's going to be a great time."
Admission is $9 per person, free for ages 2 and under, and free for Myriad Garden members.
