4Warn Storm Team tracking temperatures, road conditions across Oklahoma

0

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The 4Warn Storm Team is keeping track of road conditions and cold temperatures Friday morning.

According to KFOR Meteorologist Aaron Brackett, the snow is done for the state, but road conditions may stay hazardous as the cold temperatures stick around.

Sunshine Friday will cause a rapid melt of the snow on roadways during the daylight hours Friday. After dark, conditions will cool rapidly leading to a re-freeze across the state.

In addition, the moisture from the melted snow combined with clear skies will cause some freezing fog. Some of the fog in central and eastern Oklahoma will begin as early as 10 p.m. Friday and continue in patches overnight.

KFOR has storm trackers keeping an eye on road conditions Friday morning.

According to the City of Oklahoma City, road temperatures are currently at or below freezing. City streets may be slick and dangerous. Drivers are advised to be careful, especially on bridges and overpasses.

Several schools and offices are closed Friday due to weather, visit KFOR's Closings and Delays page for more information.
