UPDATE: Residents are allowed to return after gas leak and evacuations, says Norman Fire

UPDATE @ 11:50 a.m. Fire officials confirm the scene is under control and residents are being allowed to return to their homes and businesses.

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) - Fire officials with the Norman Fire Department and ONG are on the scene of an underground gas leak.

According to Norman Fire, the gas leak is in the area of S. Santa Fe Avenue between W. Eufaula Street and W. Symmes Street.

Evacuations are underway and drivers traveling in and around the area should expect certain roadways to be blocked off in this area.
