Trapped man rescued after NW OKC apt. complex fire
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - A man was rescued from a Saturday afternoon apartment complex fire near NW 10th and Peniel in Oklahoma City.
Officials said they responded to the fire located in the middle of the complex, just after 4 p.m.
When crews arrived they were told that the scene was clear of any possible victims, before receiving word of a man still inside a building.
According to a fire investigator, crews pulled the man out of a window, rescued him, and sent him to a local hospital.
His condition is unknown at this time but he did suffer smoke inhalation.
Officials said they believe an oven mitt that was placed too close to a heating element in the original apartment is what started the fire.
The fire burned a woman's living room and kitchen, according to fire officials.
The investigator added that there is one family that has to be relocated.
