Norman PD identify child found alone, parent located
NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — The Norman Police Department posted to social media that a 1-year-old child, who was found walking alone Saturday morning, has been identified and the parent has been located.
According to police, the 1-year-old boy was found walking the 2000 block of West Lindsey Street after 5 a.m. Saturday. The child was found safe, but police needed help locating the parents or guardians.
Police tell News 4 that a bystander had spotted the child walking alone and reported the situation to authorities.
The 1-year-old boy was found with limited clothing on, according to the Norman Police Department.
Just before 8:40 a.m. Norman PD said the young boy had been identified and the parent was located.
Police tell News 4 this is an ongoing investigation and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services is also involved.
Norman PD says the child is not connected nor is the subject of the Endangered Missing Advisory issued by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol on behalf of the Midwest City Police Department.
OHP has also confirmed that the child posted on the Norman Police Department's Facebook page is not the same child in the Endangered Missing Advisory.
