'Restoration Underway': OG&E releases severe weather update
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - OG&E announced the latest weather update on Wednesday after severe weather moved through the state earlier this week.
According to OG&E customers can expect restorations underway with 81% of customers who experienced an outage from this week’s storms and damaging winds have had their power restored with 4,900 customers remaining without service.
OG&E confirmed, 2,000 customers lost service due to storms and wind on Tuesday. Additionally, OG&E says its teams restored power to 91% of essential services in the impacted areas with priority placed with community's essential services, such as hospitals, police stations, fire departments, public works, and other critical infrastructure.
Storm Damage
Strong winds subsided overnight; however, wind gusts up to 40 mph are possible in some areas today. Damage is concentrated in the southern part of the service area. Ada, Durant and Ardmore in Oklahoma are the hardest hit communities. In Ada, damage includes 70 downed power lines, 128 broken power poles, 14 damaged transmission structures, tree damage to equipment, 66 broken cross arms and other equipment attached to poles. We understand how important it is for our customers to have power. Our crews have been and will continue to work around the clock until power is fully restored.
After the Storm
Following storms, OG&E will bring tree and brush debris to the curb, however customers are responsible for removing the debris. City and county resources for debris removal may be available and will vary by community.

Assume any downed power line is hazardous and energized. Stay away from them and anything they are touching. Please do not drive over a downed power line. Report downed power lines by calling 800-522-6870.
