One person in serious condition after a house fire in SW OKC Friday night
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — One person is in serious condition following a house fire in southwest Oklahoma City Friday night.
According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, fire crews responded to the house fire around 11:15 p.m. Friday near SW 97th Street and S May Avenue.
Officials say crews arrived at the scene of heavy flames coming from the back of the house. Crews rescued a victim who was passed out inside of the home and transported them to a local hospital in serious condition.
"A neighbor alerted us to a possible victim inside, our crews made entry through a front window and immediately found that victim, and was able to safely remove them," said Sean Cobb, Oklahoma City Fire Department shift commander.
Another person was also transported to the hospital as a precaution.
The fire spread to another home nearby. No one was inside of that home at the time of the fire.
Cobb also said the grass across the street caught fire and was leading up to a third house.
"Our crews immediately started tacking all three of those fires simultaneously," said Cobb.
No firefighters were injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
