OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Police arrested one person Friday afternoon after a short police chase involving a stolen Amazon truck ended on train tracks in southwest Oklahoma City.
According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, officers responded to the area near Newcastle Road and South Portland Avenue on Friday after reports of a stolen vehicle.

The driver of the Amazon delivery truck told police that she was outside of the vehicle, making a delivery, before returning to find the suspect, 43-year-old Melvin Bishop, in the driver's seat. The driver told Bishop to get out of the vehicle, but he refused and took off, according to OKCPD.

Officers located the truck through cameras, and when they arrived, Bishop attempted to drive the delivery truck onto the train tracks, but got stuck.
OKCPD officials said officers told Bishop to exit the vehicle, but he refused and attempted to drive off again, before police flattened the back tires.
Bishop continued to refuse officers' commands, leading up to police breaking the passenger side window and throwing tear gas inside. He eventually gave up, and officers took him into custody.
Bishop was taken to a nearby hospital before being transported and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center for charges of larceny of a motor vehicle.
