Get ready to cheer the OKC Thunder in the Conference Finals!
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The Oklahoma City Thunder punched their ticket to the Western Conference Finals and sent the Nuggets back to Denver empty-handed. Oklahoma City fans are known for being loud and the players agree that the fans play a big role in the team's success.
To get ready for Game 1 in the Conference Finals, there are over 18,000 t-shirts placed on each seat inside the Paycom Center.
Now, the fans just need to cheer on the team!
"Honestly it's so loud in there. It's really cool to have those moments. I always try to relish those in the game and yea it's just really fun to play in there and we have a really good fan base," said OKC Thunder player, Jalen Williams.
Thunder emcee, Malcom Tubbs, said the fans have been amazing this season, but now more than ever, it's time to thunder up.
"If they continue to to rise to the occasion and just be grateful to be in the position to be in the western conference finals and show that love and appreciation to the team, we're going to be all right," said Malcolm Tubbs, Team emcee for the OKC Thunder.
If you don't have a ticket to be inside on the action, Fassler Hall has been transformed into Thunder Hall and fans there are just as excited as those inside the arena.
"Some of those watch party opportunities that we have across the state offer an experience for you to feel like you're part of the game. We're all excited to be a part of the process and, you know, taking it one game at a time," said Tubbs.
As tip-off gets closer, fans are hopeful the Thunder can pull it off to the end.
"Last year, we struggled more than we have. This year, I think we had the experience of losing last year. I think that's going to put us forward, give us the confidence we need to win," said Leyton Miller, a Thunder fan.
Before the game, Thunder Up in the Park at Scissortail will start at 4 p.m.
There will be music, games, and the chance to win free tickets to the game.
