OSBI searching for more victims after man arrested on multiple rape charges
SEMINOLE COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) — An Oklahoma man accused of sexually assaulting children for decades is now in jail.
62-year-old Terry Blankinship is accused of sexually abusing children going back decades.
It was in 2023 when the Tecumseh Police Department requested help from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation on this case.
"Even though we've only had this case for a couple of years as we're continuing to try to seek those victims," said Hunter McKee with OSBI.
Court documents reveal some of the victims were as young as three years old when they were first abused at Blakinship's Tecumseh home.
"We believe that there are several other people who were victimized by this 62-year-old man. This stems from the decades of the 1980s, 1990s and then, of course, most recently from 2007 to 2011," said McKee.
Court documents say the victims tried to report the abuse to the Department of Human Services years prior.
One victim reportedly told investigators that Blakinship threatened the victims and told them if they told anyone they would never see their family again.
"We located and arrested Mr. Blankinship in Seminole County," said McKee.
McKee said the bureau believes there are additional victims and the Pottawatomie County District Attorney's office is going to review possible additional charges.
"This investigation does not stop and we need to do what we can to do everything in our power to help these victims," said McKee.
Any victims of Blakinship are asked to reach out to the OSBI tip line by calling 1-800-522-8017 or emailing tips@osbi.ok.gov.
