Fans get to Thunder parade hours before it kicks off
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Thousands of Thunder fans gathered in downtown Oklahoma City for Tuesday morning's championship parade. Many even got there before the sun came up to claim a front row seat.
"We got down here at midnight! They said Tuesday, so we got here right at Tuesday," said Liberty Ryker, who got to the parade route at midnight.
Ryker knew she didn't want to miss the celebration for the world, and she definitely wasn't the only one.
"I got out here at 3:45. We got the championship, so we can't ask for anything more. We're looking forward to next season already," said Tara Crittenden, who got to the parade route at 3:45 am.
"I know we got a lot of crazy fans, so I didn't know how early I needed to be," said Aidan Bouchard.
Other fans who got there before the crack of dawn have been waiting for this moment for a long time.
"The Thunder represent hope. They represent light. They represent what Oklahoma can be in the future," said Daniela Rojas, a Thunder fan.
One fan even traveled three hours from Texas to enjoy the big event.
"We didn't even consider the parade, and then we were like, 'Oh yeah, we should go to that.' My husband had to go to New York, so I'm here for both of us, haha," said Amanda Kohlhofer, who traveled from Texas.
Once the parade started, the vibes were through the roof! This left fans eager to see their favorite players just feet away as the entire state celebrates a huge NBA championship.
