A media outlet close to the de facto administration reported from its own sources that the recent attack on Kandahar province was carried out by an assailant who entered Afghanistan from Pakistan.

On Saturday, Al-Mursad reported that the attacker, Madiyarov Asadbaik, who carried out the Kandahar attack, is a Central Asian national who joined the Khorasan branch of ISIS two months ago in Balochistan province, Pakistan and had entered Afghanistan from Pakistan a few days before the incident.

This media outlet claimed, citing its sources, that the suicide attacker in Kandahar had received “ideological and doctrinal” training in Balochistan over the past two months.

AL-Mursad also published images attributed to the suicide attacker in Kandahar and stated that he had entered Kandahar several days before the attack.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the Thursday morning attack on the Bank-e-Noor in Kandahar, according to the local authorities of the Taliban government in Kandahar. Four people were killed and twelve injured in this attack, although some media outlets, citing local sources and hospitals, reported higher casualty figures.

Nevertheless, Al-Mursad stated in its report that Balochistan province in Pakistan is now “an important center for ISIS’s Khorasan branch,” and Shihab al-Muhajir, the leader of this branch of ISIS, and his associates are also in that Pakistani province.

AL-Mursad also claimed that ISIS has hideouts, training centers, and bomb-making factories in Balochistan province, Pakistan.

This media outlet further wrote that the attack in Kerman, Iran, was also orchestrated by a Tajik national in Balochistan province, Pakistan.

ISIS had also claimed responsibility for the suicide attackers’ assault in Kerman, Iran, in January, which killed and injured over 300 people.

AL-Mursad also added that ISIS in Pakistan targets political opponents of the military, anti-Western religious scholars, and Baloch nationalists.
