Amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, France has warned its citizens about traveling to Iran, Israel, Lebanon, and Palestine, as reported by Agence France-Presse.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that France has evacuated the families of its diplomats from Iran.
Tensions between Iran and Israel heightened when at least seven senior officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in an attack on the Iranian consulate building in Damascus, the capital of Syria.
Iran considers this attack the work of Israel, but Israel has not officially claimed responsibility for it yet.
On the other hand, Iran’s threats to retaliate against this attack have raised concerns in the region.
Reuters reported that the Islamic Republic has sent a message to the United States, stating that Tehran will respond to this attack in a way that will not lead to escalation and conflict in the region.
According to Iranian sources cited by the news agency, the Islamic Republic has stated in this message that it will not act hastily, as it seeks a ceasefire in Gaza.
Meanwhile, the US has observed Iran moving military assets, including drones and cruise missiles, within its borders, signaling potential preparations for launching attacks on Israeli targets from Iranian territory, according to CNN.
Sources closely tied to US intelligence, as reported by CNN, suggest that Iran’s deployment of military assets may serve as a deterrent against potential counterattacks from Israel or the US on Iranian soil.
US intelligence sources have disclosed that Iran has been preparing up to 100 cruise missiles, indicating a significant level of readiness for potential offensive actions against Israeli targets.
Iran seeks to make a substantial impact with its strike on Israel while also avoiding confrontation with Israel and the US. Consequently, US intelligence assessments suggest that Iran may opt to use proxy forces to carry out the initial attack.
