Reds Linked with Potential Attacking Reinforcement
The season may still be in its infancy, but that hasn’t stopped the flow of rumours of potential moves in January and beyond.
Liverpool in particular find themselves the subject of a number of reports, with the consensus being that the club are one of those most likely to seek reinforcements following a quiet summer which saw Federico Chiesa the only addition to Arne Slot’s first team options.
Whilst most of the rumours appear to be just that, and all noises coming from the club indicate that they are happy with the current selection of players at their disposal, one name that continues to be linked is Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush.
The 25-year-old has been making waves in the Bundesliga so far this season, scoring 10 times in 11 appearances whilst also racking up seven assists. The Reds have been credited with an interest in the Egypt international for a considerable amount of time, and with other clubs now reported to be sniffing around the forward may need to make a decision whether to pursue a deal.
“Serious Option”
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that Liverpool are a “serious option” for Marmoush, who he says “dreams” of a move to the Premier League. Other clubs linked with a move for the player include Manchester United and Chelsea.
Eintracht Frankfurt are currently demanding a transfer fee of between €50-60m for Omar #Marmoush.
Liverpool is indeed a serious option. The interest is real, and there has already been contact between the player’s camp and #LFC. #SGE are aware of it.

Whilst primarily deployed in the middle for Eintracht, Marmoush is capable of playing anywhere across the front line, offering valuable versatility. In addition to his outstanding form during the current campaign, he also scored a respectable 12 goals in 29 league appearances last season, and appears to be a player going from strength to strength.
Will it Happen?
Liverpool appear to be pretty set in the attacking department for now, with six players vying for the three spots in the team. There are of course question marks hanging over the future of Mohamed Salah though, whilst it remains to be seen whether Chiesa will settle at the club and there could also be a decision to make next summer over the future of Darwin Nunez, who is quite clearly second choice behind Diogo Jota at present. If the club is looking beyond the current campaign there could well be space for another attacking option.
At 25 years old and just starting to hit his best form, Marmoush definitely fits the bill as a typical Liverpool signing. If a move is going to happen it will most likely be next summer, but as seen in the past the club are willing to move in January if at risk of losing their man so a lot will depend on how seriously other clubs pursue the player.
