Prime Day 2025 ends tonight, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price-tracking tools before it's over.
New to Prime Day? We have a primer on everything you need to know. Sales are accurate at the time of publication, but prices and inventory are always subject to change.
Here at Lifehacker, we've been trying to find the best Prime Day deals on the tech we've actually had experience with—and I can honestly say the Samsung T7 Portable SSD, now down by $80 (40%) from $199.99, is the best external drive I've ever used. I'm very sure you won't be disappointed if you pick one up either.
Full transparency: I've only ever owned a handful of external drives, so the sample size is pretty small. But this is a rugged SSD that you won't be afraid to drop or knock, and which offers some impressive read and write speeds (up to to 1,050MB/s) no matter what your demands are. It's also smaller than you think it's going to be, at a perfectly pocketable 3.3 x 2.2 x 0.3 inches (and it weighs just over a couple of ounces).
My LIfehacker colleague Eric Ravenscraft has also used the Samsung T7 extensively, and says it doesn't skip a beat when recording 6K BRAW video—so that's two recommendations from the team for this compact drive. The Amazon rating doesn't always reflect a product's quality, but that's very high here too.
The deal I've highlighted above is for the 2TB version of the drive with the gray finish, which is probably the sweet spot for most people. If you click around on the listing you can pick it up in different colors and at capacities up to 4TB, though obviously the pricing and the discount you get will vary.
