Lawmaker favors 4 days weekly for plenary sessions in 18th Congress

DEPUTY Speaker and Cagayan de Oro City 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez is in favor of holding plenary sessions at the House of Representatives every Thursday during the 18th Congress.

The House holds plenary sessions from Monday to Wednesday.

At the Ugnayan sa Batasan media forum on Wednesday, Rodriguez said that “I also agree with the suggestion from the Senate that we should meet also on Thursdays”.

He said during the media forum that three days a week “is quite short, considering that we have the other items that you have mentioned earlier”.

Three weeks remain before the second regular session of the 18th Congress ends. Its third regular session will start on July 26, 2021.

Pending measures at the House include the proposed Bayanihan 3 bill.
