Disgraced Met detective let men rape drugged wife before her mysterious death
The wife of an ex Metropolitan Police detective was drugged by her husband so other men could rape her before she was found dead inside a blood drenched hotel room.
Rebekah Arter, 47, met Warren Arter in 2007 while he was the lead investigator on her domestic violence case.
They married in 2016 but he was arrested soon after when police received a tip off he was having inappropriate relationships with his victims.
He made sexual advances to at least four of his victims, it was claimed, when he was leading a rape investigation between 2006 and 2012.
During a misconduct tribunal last year, it was revealed investigators had evidence Arter took drugs and offered to supply them at swingers parties.
It was claimed Rebekah was forced to have sex with men at parties, and was raped after her husband drugged her.
Her friends described their relationship as ‘toxic’ and ‘deeply controlling’, and said the pair were both addicted to crack cocaine.
These allegations were eventually investigated after Rebekah was found dead in a blood-drenched hotel room in Barbados in July.
Just six months after meeting Rebekah he moved in with her and her young son Elliot in Welling, south London.
They married in Las Vegas in 2016 but after they returned from their honeymoon, police were waiting to arrest him on suspicion of having sex with rape victims.
He was accused of pestering victims of sexual offences between 2006 and 2013 while he was leading an investigation team which won an award in 2009 for having the best detection rate in the Metropolitan Police.
Police also found a photograph of him sitting on his sofa with white powder and a card resting on his coffee table.

After he was barred from policing, he then binged on cocaine and sex forcing Rebekah to go with him ‘under his complete control’, The Sun reports.
Friends say he forced her to wear revealing clothing and high heeled stilettos, adding ‘she was not the woman she was when she met Warren’.
In 2018 he was arrested for supplying drugs and corrupt use of police powers, as 3,000 messages were found on his phone relating to swinging.
He was sacked by the force, and the couple racked up so much in debt Rebekah was forced to remortgage her house.
Because he escaped criminal proceedings, Arter was still able to claim his pension and the couple flew to Barbados in June.
Nine days later Arter said he found Rebekah with blood everywhere at the luxury O2 Beach Club and Spa hotel.
She died from a massive haemorrhage of the lungs caused by a viral infection with cocaine found in her system.
An inquest into her death will take place in London.
A source told The Sun Arter sent a video to a friend showing Rebekah having sex with a man while she appeared to be unconscious.
He then spent more than £3,000 on Rebekah’s credit card in the days after her death.
He reportedly gave different accounts as to how he found her body, saying he woke up two hours after sunbathing to find her dead.
He also told investigators they went for dinner and he had slept for 18 hours before finding her dead.
By the time Rebekah’s body was flown back to the UK, Arter had died in prison.
When he returned to Heathrow and was arrested on suspicion of rape in an incident not related to Rebekah.
He was also arrested on allegations of voyuerism, sending malicious communications and blackmail.
Two weeks later he was found dead in his jail cell after he took his own life.
