Prince George reveals what he wants for Christmas with adorable letter to Santa
When it comes to Christmas presents, what do you get for someone who has it all?
That’s a question the royal family have to consider every year, and if Prince George’s 2017 wish list is any clue, their desires might be more relatable than you think.
Resurfaced photos of a royal engagement from 2017 at Esplanade Park in Finland shows Prince William personally handing the young prince’s Christmas list to Father Christmas.
The then four-year-old had just one simple and endearing request: a toy police car.
The heartwarming moment has delighted royal fans online, who lit up social media with admiration for George’s humble wish.
One user commented, ‘I like a boy who knows his own mind. And I adore that the future king’s wants are so much like any other child’s.’
Another joked, ‘A dad who knows Santa personally? I wanted that!’ A third added, ‘How lovely Prince William was for giving George’s letter to Father Christmas,’ OK! reported.
George’s fascination with the police seems to run in the family. As a child, Prince William once dreamed of becoming a policeman—a tender aspiration tied to his late mother, Princess Diana.
Royal biographer Andrew Morton once wrote: ‘William and Harry were aware of their destiny. On one occasion, the boys were discussing their futures with Diana.
‘When I grow up I want to be a policeman and look after you Mummy,’ said William. Quick as a flash Harry replied, with a note of triumph in his voice, “Oh no you can’t, you’ve got to be king”,’ Andrew continued.
Years later, William revealed that his son shares a similar fascination. At a Kensington Palace reception in honor of Scotland Yard, Police Commissioner Jayne Richardson joked, ‘We are recruiting, actually, so if George and Charlotte are keen?’
William laughed, replying, ‘[George] is obsessed, actually, by the police… cars, toys, everything.’
