Tributes pour in for bride who died in car crash just months after wedding day
A family has shared their heartbreak after a young woman died in a car wreck just months after tying the knot.
Amy Stokes, 20, was a passenger in a Vauxhall Astra which crashed on December 23 in Derrylin, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.
The other passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said, but Amy died from her injuries.
Amy had married husband Damien just three months before her death.
A police spokesperson said: ‘Amy’s family have asked the police service to pass on that they are devastated by her loss, and that she will be sorely missed by her family and friends.’
A well-wisher on social media said: ‘Rest in heavenly peace Amy, may God grant you the best bed in heaven. Heartbreaking in the days of Christmas.
‘May God watch over your broken-hearted husband Damien and your family. Rest in peace, forever young.’
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen something. Anyone with dash camera footage is encouraged to come forward.
