Prisoner filmed having sex with guard attacked while holding baby during visit
A prisoner filmed having sex with a female guard at HMP Wandsworth was rushed to hospital after being violently attacked behind bars, it has been reported.
Linton Weirich, 36, was videoed by his cellmate having sex with prison officer Linda De Sousa Abreu. The X-rated clip went viral after being shared online.
The convicted burglar is said to have been badly assaulted last month during a visit from a woman and a three-month baby at HMP Swaleside in Kent, where he was moved after the sex tape scandal.
He was floored by a blow to the head while holding the infant, who suffered a fractured skull when Weirich fell to the ground, police said.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said it was ‘awful for the baby’s mum to witness’, adding: ‘To see her child not responding and knocked out is terrifying.’
They said the family have been ‘I total shock’ and are still worried for the baby’s condition.
Kent Police told the newspaper: ‘It is reported a prisoner was punched by another inmate in an area used for visitors.
‘The victim sustained head injuries and fell onto a three-month-old baby he had been holding.
‘The baby suffered a fractured skull but has since been discharged from hospital. The suspect has been identified and an investigation is ongoing.’
A Prison Service spokesperson said: ‘Police are investigating an assault on a prisoner at HMP Swaleside on December 18.
‘It would be inappropriate to comment further while they investigate.’
News of the attack comes days after De Sousa Abreu was jailed for 15 months after admitting misconduct in a public office.
The video shows the pair having sex while De Sousa Abreu’s radio crackles with messages in the background.
Weirich’s cellmate filmed the liaison on his phone and can be heard saying: ‘This is how we roll in Wandsworth.’
At another point, someone appears to try to come into the cell, and the camera operator is heard saying to them: ‘Give me a minute, one second.’
Sentencing, Judge Martin Edmunds KC told De Sousa Abreu: ‘You engaged in sexual activity with a prisoner. That compromised your role as an officer, and was misconduct which undermines discipline within the prison, and puts fellow officers at increased risk.
‘You knew that conduct was forbidden and forbidden for good reason.’
