Man, 83, charged with murder after elderly woman found dead at home

An 83-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead in her home in Bedfordshire.

Police were called to the property in Kingsbury Avenue, Dunstable, shortly before 2pm in Thursday following reports a woman had been injured inside.

Margaret Worby, 84, was declared dead at the scene.

Roger Worby, of Kingsbury Avenue, Dunstable, was charged with murder.

He appeared at Luton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

Worby has been remanded into custody and will next appear at Luton Crown Court on Tuesday.

Detective Inspector Verity McCann earlier said: ‘This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the woman’s loved ones at this time.’
