Vodafone is down leaving thousands of users without internet access
Vodafone broadband users experienced internet outages, no signal, and some have ‘total internet blackout’.
Hundreds of outage reports spiked on Down Detector just before 8 am today. The issue now appears to be resolved.
A spokesperson for CityFibre told Metro: ‘A configuration issue was causing intermittent problems on our network this morning.
‘The issue was quickly identified and resolved, with everyone back up and running by 9.30am. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.’
CityFibre is a subset of Vodafone, which provides fibre broadband to Vodafone customers.
London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Newcastle and other UK cities reported outages.
Customers were quick to complain online – one user who has a smart home said they woke up to a freezing home thanks to the internet outage.
‘Is the smart home actually worth it?! At the moment it isn’t!’ Matt Nunn wrote.
Others claimed there had been little to no customer support. One customer said they were unable to do a broadband check and couldn’t log a complaint.
A frustrated customer wrote on X: ‘Went through all the broadband checker steps and still nothing. Can’t access live chat cause your chat just says no agents available try again later!’
Last week, Mastercard users experienced issues while making purchases and attempting to make payments.
Customers in the United Kingdom, Japan, the United States and France all reported issues online.
A spokesperson for Mastercard told Metro: ‘There was a period of time earlier today in which some Mastercard transactions were declined. The situation has been resolved and all systems are working as normal.’
Last month, thousands of Vodafone users reported issues with their phone apps – leaving some locked out of mobile banking.
In February, another broadband provider restored service after a massive outage left thousands of customers without internet access.
Community Fibre, which has 300,000 customers mainly in London and surrounding areas, apologised for the disruption.
