COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Flights to and from Columbus will be impacted as the second hurricane in as many weeks is headed toward Florida.
John Glenn International Airport posted a social media thread Tuesday with the latest information about its nonstop destinations ahead of Hurricane Milton, which is expected to hit Florida in the coming days.
Tampa International Airport
On Tuesday morning, Tampa International Airport suspended its flight operations in preparation for the impending hurricane. It will remain closed until further notice.
Orlando International Airport
Starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Orlando International Airport will close its commercial operations as it monitors the hurricane's path. The airport said it would continue to post updates to its social media as they become available. It asked that customers contact their airlines to check in on any scheduled flights.
St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport
After its last flight Tuesday, St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport will be closed through Wednesday and Thursday. The airport is located in a mandatory evacuation zone, according to its social media page. It encouraged people to prepare for the hurricane and stay safe.
Southwest Florida International Airport
In Ft. Myers, the Southwest Florida International Airport will not offer flights on Wednesday or Thursday. It will remain open Tuesday before ceasing operations when the hurricane is expected to hit.
Sarasota Bradenton International Airport
The Sarasota Bradenton International Airport will remain open until 4 p.m. Tuesday, but will then stay closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Many of the airport's flights have already been cancelled, it said on social media. Those with flights scheduled are urged to check in with their airline directly to learn more.

John Glenn recommended that travelers heading to airports in Jacksonville, Miami and Fort Lauderdale stay up to date with their airline for the latest flight info. It emphasized that weather in other parts of the country can still impact flight operations in Columbus.
