ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- President Joe Biden granted clemency to 16 people on Wednesday, one of them, an Albany resident. Stacy Wilder pleaded guilty to a non-violent drug offense in January 2003.
According to the White House Press Office, Wilder served her sentence of just under six years in prison and five years of supervised release. Under current law and sentencing practices, Wilder would have received a significantly lower sentence.
The White House Press Office says Wilder has worked as a payroll examiner and in related roles within state government ever since and has earned promotions and positive feedback. Wilder contributes to organizations that support animals, veterans, and the homeless.
The White House Press Office continued, saying community members and neighbors describe Wilder as trustworthy, hard-working, and good-hearted, always willing to help others.
