Wireless electric bike stations installed in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New universal wireless charging stations for electric bikes have been installed in Amsterdam at Mohawk Valley Gateway Park by re:Charge and the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA). They are a part of CDTA's CDPHP Cycle! bikeshare program. The program is the first in the country to use wireless power transfer charge shared electric micro-mobility bikes with a charging station and four charging docks.

Five CDPHP electric bikes from CDPHP Cycle! were equipped with a new front basket to incorporate a wireless power receiver. Users of the CDPHP Cycle! in Amsterdam can return one of the bikes to the charging stations and charging will begin automatically.

The pilot project is expected to last 16 weeks.
