Schenectady man faces 15 to life in drug distribution case
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Schenectady man faces 15 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to drug and weapon charges. James Alvin Boone, II, 30, admitted to distributing fentanyl and cocaine throughout the Capital Region.
According to the Department of Justice, Boone admitted to storing over 25,000 fentanyl pills weighing over 3 kilograms, two handguns, ammunition and several hundred grams of cocaine in a storage unit and at a co-conspirator's home. Boone reportedly distributed the pills and personally had over 1.4 kilograms of cocaine and a pistol in a safe in his home.
The DOJ reported during the investigation, law enforcement seized the narcotics, firearms and ammunition from Boone and his co-conspirator. After his arrest, Boone also admitted to instructing another person to get rid of additional fentanyl pills.
He pleaded guilty to possession of fentanyl and cocaine with intent to distribute, distribution of fentanyl, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
According to the DOJ, he also faces a probation term of five years to life. Boone will be sentenced on May 30, by United States District Judge Anne Nardacci.
